What YOU can do

Americans want health care reform NOW, and will elect representatives who deliver it.  Attention Presidential candidates: Make up your mind who you work for. Do you serve the best interests of the American people? Or are you a servant of the insurance and pharmaceutical industries.

Vote for Democratic Party

The private insurance industry is about profits, not patients. Don't allow our politicians to force us into more private, for profit plans!

10+ Things YOU CAN DO to fix America's broken health care system!

1. Please contact the American Medical Association (AMA). Ask them to STOP supporting the private for-profit health insurance companies, and to support HR676, the U.S. National Health Insurance Act

CALL the AMA toll-free, or write them today!

American Medical Association
515 N. State Street
Chicago, IL 60610
(800) 621-8335

AMA supports private for profit  insurance. They advocate:
   1. helping people buy health insurance through tax credits or vouchers,
   2. individual choice of health insurance, and
   3. fair rules of the game—regulating markets and protecting high-risk patients.

2. Please visit www.SiCKOCure.org to SIGN the HR 676 petition, and WRITE to your congress rep and learn more about the well-organized NATIONAL MOVEMENT  towards real universal health care. HR 676, the U.S. National Health Insurance Act , is endorsed by more than 14,000 doctors and would provide comprehensive, universal health care coverage for all Americans. SiCKOCure.org is a Project of the Physicians for a National Health Program, California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee and HealthCare-NOW!

3 . Please go to: www.michaelmoore.com/sicko/what-can-i-do/ Michael's site tells you to take a number of positive action steps not the least of which is to send your health care horror story to your member of congress ; pay a house call to your local congressperson and let them know how you feel.  Band together with organizations to bring down private, for-profit health insurance companies. Eat fruits and vegetables and walk around.

4. Go to our National Scene and join one of these groups;

5. To to our State-by-state pages and join one of these groups.

9. Watch a video
then Yell out a window,
"I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!!!"

Oh, and just forget the sham that was the  Citizens Health Care Working Group.
Dr. Don McCanne accurately called it: "a partisan hack job". They went coast-to-coast and asked for American's opinions on how to fix our health care system. THE MAJORITY OF THE PARTICIPANTS WANTED NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE, but the Working Group came out with a biased report and recommendation of their own. But we're not going to let up until we get National Health Insurance.

1. Contact
CITIZENS HEALTH CARE WORKING GROUP which was set up by Congress and the President (under the MEDICARE PRESCRIPTION DRUG, IMPROVEMENT, AND MODERNIZATION ACT OF 2003 -
Read the Law). They wanted to know what kind of health care system you want!

Tell them you want National Health Insurance - - NOT an incremental fix that keeps prices high and millions uninsured!

SPEAK OUT- -Take their questionnaire Say NO to Health Savings Accounts (HSA'S)
Say YES to National Health Insurance!

VISIT their Web site at
www.citizenshealthcare.gov/index.php

ATTEND one of their Community Meetings

10. WRITE, CALL OR E-MAIL - and COMPLAIN ABOUT THEIR BIASED REPORT:
Citizens' Health Care Working Group
7201 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 575
Bethesda, MD 20814
Tel. 301-443-1502
E-mail:
CitizensHealth@ahrq.gov

OR, write to a newspaper; post a comment on a blog; tell your doctor to join PNHP...

...We don't care what you do, just PLEASE DO SOMETHING to help change our hellish system!
